Addicted To God's Presence

I believe we are all addicted to something. We're all addicted to something that takes the pain away. If you are not addicted to God's love, you must be addicted to something else. The one reason that most people fail to overcome an addiction is because they focus on their addictions, not on God's love.

What we don't realize is that the life most of us are living is an addiction in and of itself. We are addicted to society's expectations and paradigms. Unless you are broken, and broken hard, there is no way that you can break free of the addictions that you have to the dysfunctional behaviors of society. The truth is when the pain of staying the same is worse than the pain of change, then you will change.

Dopamine is the feel-good hormone with amazing effects: high attention, improved short-term memory, elation and boldness. The dopamine released during orgasm is equal "in effect" to one shot of heroin, as some scientists claim. No wonder it's the hormone that causes addiction. I love to pray and enjoy the presence of God. When the anointing fall on me, it boost my dopamine levels. Intimate prayer can increase your dopamine levels. I believe the promise of enjoyable prayer is for everyone. Praying is meant to be enjoyable. For me, praying is like watching a movie for the first time that I enjoyed so much.

God is not a boring Person. There will be no end to desire God. The more you know Him, the more you love Him and the more you're addicted to Him. Intimacy with God is one of the richest and deepest experiences of the soul.

When once you have enjoyed the presence God and the sweetness of His love, you will be addicted to it. You will find it is impossible to enjoy anything else but himself. You will be filled with heavenly joy. You will live in divine health, and that even in your old age you will continue to be filled with energy, health and vigor.

A spiritual person cannot seek enjoyment in worldly society. To serve and live in the presence of God is the highest form of entertainment for him. You are mature spiritually when you reach the point in your life where you know you can never live without God and you are totally addicted to Him.
