The Greatest Blessing

What people want most in life are things like health, wealth, success and popularity. Success to this world means money, power and fame. I do not measure success in life by money, fame, power. I measure success in life by living in the presence of God in every moment I have and in everything I do.

Material things can never wholly satisfy us. Indeed, we know from experience that every item we have desired has pleased us only for a short while. Then it became boring, and we started to desire something else.  The wealth and pleasure of the world do not contain a sweetness sufficient to satisfy the heart of man. Until we have found our capacity to enjoy the blissful presence of God (abundant life), nothing in this world can wholly satisfy us. I believe unless we can fully experience the blessing of the presence of God we can never fully enjoy the material blessings of God.

I know that money can make this life a little easier especially for those that struggle for necessities. But a loving relationship with God can never be replaced with money. You can buy almost everything with money. But you can never buy intimacy with God with money.

It's not wrong to have and to enjoy our material blessings. In fact, I believe it is God's will for us to prosper. But the greatest blessing that God wants to give us is not material things. It's the blessing of God's presence that brings eternal joy, peace and meaning. The true blessings of God are all matters of the soul -- emotional well-being, loving relationships, godly character, and, most of all, God Himself.

I believe whatever we do for God's sake, He will take care of us and reward us. If we diligently seek Him, He will reward us with His presence that brings peace and joy. As we improve the health and strength of our physical being by proper food and exercise, so we improve the strength and beauty of our spiritual being by proper prayer and meditation on God's word. After going through a long period of wilderness, testing and spiritual trials, now I have come to see that the greatest of all blessings is just to know God and to be in His presence. I have reached the land of "eternal weights of glory" and the regions where "joy is unspeakable".

As you walk closely with the Lord, two things happen. First you reflect the glory of God like a mirror and then you are transformed into His glorious likeness. Once you have tasted His glory you cannot stop craving it. Once you have tasted the glory of His presence, you cannot be satisfied with anything less. Once you have experienced intimacy with God, you will never feel lonely again and you don't need worldly pleasures to make your day anymore. The sweetness of God's presence in the soul is as much more glorious than the sweetness of sugar to the taste as spiritual and heavenly things are above literal and earthly things.

I pray, may living in God's presence become a reality in your daily experience. May God give you grace to possess the divine presence in its fulness and to enjoy your life to the fullest.
